Telesonic turns the audio of a browser tab into one link. This page explains what is handled, where it goes, and what is deliberately not collected.

Effective October 20, 2026 · applies to extension v1.3.0 and this site

The short version: no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no audio stored. Audio is sent live, browser to browser, only to people who have your link.

01 What is handled

Tab audio

When you press Share this tab’s audio, the extension captures the audio of the tab you chose and streams it, live, to the listeners who have your link. The audio travels over a WebRTC peer connection directly between the two browsers. It is not recorded, uploaded, stored or replayed.

Tab details

The extension reads the active tab’s title, favicon and whether it is currently audible so the panel can show what you are sharing. This information stays in your browser. The tabs permission is needed for this, but Telesonic does not read or keep your browsing history.

The room link

Telesonic generates a random 7-letter room id. The link is the only key: anyone who has /listen?t=<id> can listen while you are live. The id appears in the link and is sent to the signaling service.

Connection metadata

To establish the peer connection, both browsers exchange WebRTC session descriptions and ICE candidates through the PeerJS signaling service. That metadata includes IP addresses and connection details. The audio itself does not pass through the signaling service.

02 What is not collected

  • No accounts, names, email addresses or passwords.
  • No analytics, tracking pixels, advertising or tracking cookies.
  • No recordings, transcripts or copies of tab audio.
  • No browsing history. The extension only looks at the active tab when the panel is open.
  • No selling or sharing of personal data for advertising.

Because there are no accounts, Telesonic has no user profile to build, sell or delete.

03 Hosting and logs

The listener page is a static site hosted on Vercel. Vercel may keep standard access logs such as IP address, user agent, requested URL and timestamp for security and operations. Because the room id is in the query string, it can appear in those logs. We do not use these logs to build profiles or for advertising. See Vercel’s privacy policy for its retention practices.

Signaling is provided by the public PeerJS cloud. Its servers see the room id and the WebRTC metadata needed to connect peers, but not the audio.

04 Third parties

The service relies on a small set of third parties:

  • Vercel hosts this static listener page and the landing site.
  • PeerJS public signaling helps two browsers find each other.
  • Your browser and the listeners’ browsers carry the audio peer-to-peer.

Telesonic does not sell data or share it for advertising. Your use of a third-party service is also subject to that service’s terms and privacy policy.

05 Retention

Audio is live-only and is not stored. The room link stops working when the sharer presses Stop sharing, closes the tab, quits the browser or reloads the extension. The extension keeps the current session in memory; it does not keep a history of past streams.

Standard server logs are retained by Vercel under its own policies. Telesonic does not maintain a separate database of links, listeners or rooms.

06 Your choices

  • Stop sharing destroys the peer connection; the link stops working immediately.
  • Stop listening disconnects the listener and releases the audio stream.
  • Permissions can be revoked in your browser. Chrome asks for access to the tab when you click the extension icon; Firefox uses its own display-capture picker.
  • There is no account to delete and no profile to export.

07 Security

WebRTC audio is encrypted in transit with DTLS-SRTP. Signaling metadata is sent over HTTPS and secure WebSockets. No system is perfect: use Telesonic on networks and with people you trust, and treat a listener link like a key. Anyone who has the link can listen while you are live.

08 Children

Telesonic is not directed to children under 13, or under the minimum age required in your country. If you are below that age, use the service only with a parent or guardian. Do not use Telesonic to share illegal or harmful content.

09 Changes

This policy may change as the product changes. The effective date at the top of the page will be updated. Material changes will be announced on this page. Continuing to use Telesonic after an update means you accept the revised policy.
